For 22 years, City Sensors designs and manufactures Pressure Sensors for industrial applications.
The word ''sensors'' means ''sensing elements '', that is to say that we do not manufacture any standard Transducer or Transmitter for general purpose applications.
Let's say that we offer a pressure sensing component which must be integrated inside a Transducer (or Transmitter) assembly, or directly integrated inside a machine which requires a pressure control.

Of course, we provide our Customers with very detailed technical informations on how to use those sensors, in order to get the best performance available.
We also cooperate very closely with our Customers to orientate them towards the right solution and participate to their technical integration design.

Our range of sensors covers Pressure Ranges from 1 bar Full Scale up to 1000 bar Full Scale.
Both Absolute and Gage pressure sensors are available in various configurations bringing a wide opportunity of applications.

¤ To what kind of Customers are we selling ?

City Sensors has mainly 2 kinds of Customers :

¤ The Transducers Manufacturers : Most Companies doing that kind of measuring devices do not have their own technology to manufacture the sensing elements, which can be considered as the ''heart'' of the transducer. They buy the sensors, add an electronic signal conditionning and amplifing system and then integrate the whole thing inside a standard or specific housing.
That market represents for us about 50 % of our sales.
¤ The O.E.M. applications : This category of Customers are very diversified. Generally speaking, they manufacture machines or equipments on board which it is necessary to measure, control or monitor a pressure.
For obvious economic and practical reasons, those Customers do not buy complete transducers because they are usually too expensive or too big or not convenient to install on their machines. It is much more convenient to integrate a sensing element directly on the body of a pump, for example.
This second category of Customers represent the other 50 % of our activity.

As we are selling to transducers Manufacturers, we do not manufacture any standard Transducer for general purpose applications, as we do not want to compete against our own Customers.
On the contrary, we design, manufacture and sell special assemblies upon specific requests for dedicated applications, making sure that the device will never be sold by our Customer as a standard Transducer, but only as a component of a specific equipment.

¤ What is our Technology ? What does it bring ?

We use the Thick Film Strain Gage Ceramic Technology. The membrane of the pressure sensor is made of (Al2O3) Alumina, as well as the body of the sensor.
The Strain Gages are deposited by means of the screen printing process and cured at very high temperature.

This Technology brings many advantages :
¤ A direct compatibility with any agressive media (except HF acid).
¤ An excellent Long Term Stability.
¤ A perfect elastic behavior, generating a very good linearity and an almost negligible hysteresis.
¤ A wide temperature operating range from - 55 up to +150 °C.

In addition, our Technology allows a large volume manufacturing capability at a reasonable or low cost price level, depending upon the considered model.

• Hydraulic systems (for instance on industrial robots) : usually from 100 to 400 bar pressure ranges.
